The Bonython Hall is located in the city of Adelaide in Australia. Sir Bonython gave a donation of 40.000 pounds and the building has been constructed. It is located on the North Terrace at Pultney Street and it was opened in 1936. Sir John Langdon Bonython was born  in 1848, he was an editor, a newspaper owner and a philanthropist. He was born in London and was the second son of George Langdon Bonython, a carpenter and builder, and his wife Ann, born McBain. The family Bonython arrived in South Australia in July 1954.
