The Botanic
Garden is located at North Terrace in Adelaide, Australia. It is
visited by a lot of tourists who are on holiday Australia. It
was only in 1854 that 41 acres was decided to be the botanical
garden. In 1857 the garden was publicly opened. George Francis
was the Superintendent of the garden, it is said that when he
was making the plans of the garden that he was influenced by
Versailles in France and the Royal Botanic Garden in England.
George Francis left his place in 1865 because of health problems
and left his place to Dr Richard Schomburgk, who was there till
he died in 1891. |
