On the above
picture you can see a beautiful view of the botanical Garden in
Adelaide, which is known to be very famous in Australia. The
Garden is everyday opened to the public, there are also garden
guides available free of charge. In 1866, 84 acres of land was
added to the garden. Glasshouses were constructed in order for
them to plant tropical plants. In 1868 the Victoria House was
built, it was especially for the water lily, Victoria amazonica
to be planted. In the Botanical Garden you can also admire the
Palm House, a restored Victorian glasshouse imported from
Germany in 1875. |
