North Terrace is a street of
Adelaide city, it is considered as the cultural boulevard, and
it is a very busy street. It is the Central Business District.
Along the North Terrace you will see a lot of buildings. You
will also come along the Adelaide Convention Centre, the
Adelaide railway station, the Adelaide casino, the Parliament
House, the Government House, the State Library of South
Australia, the Royal Adelaide Hospital, the Botanic Gardens, the
South Australian Museum, the University. The Government House
is the official residence of the Governor of South Australia.
One of the well known Governors was John Hindmarsh, he was the
first Governor of South Australia from December 1836 to July
1838. The second Governor was Lieutenant Colonel George Gawler,
he replaced Hindmarsh and governed from October 1838 to May
