On the above
picture you see the Adelaide Railway Station. The Railway
Station is not far from the Parliament House, and the North
Terrace. The Casino of Adelaide is located in part of the
station building. The first railway station opened in 1856 and
served the line between Adelaide and Port Adelaide. The Governor
of South was one of the first people who travelled in the
first passenger train that went from Adelaide on 19 April 1856
and 2 days after the line was opened to the public. Each day 6
trains were driven in each direction and on Sundays only 2. |
