Possums are small creatures which differ from the size of your finger being from 63 medium-sized arboreal marsupial species. The possum is native of Australia, New Guinea and Sulawesi. Their fur differs between the following colours; grey or brown. These are nocturnal or omnivorous animals. They are to be found in nest or in hollow trees where they eventually build up their homes. Possums only get out of their "caves" to forge food. Their main dishes are fruits, vegetables and flowers. They are mainly found in suburban areas where their loud hissing and crackling territorial call for male Common Bushtail may be a problem for the residents. Not only do they create or form their homes in hollow trees and in nests but they also try to do so on roofs and in gardens. They are legally protected but regulations and it is not encouraged to trap them or keep them indoors for domestic purposes. It is advised to give them free way to live by either capturing them or releasing them some far metres away from your home. This is to be done only if they annoy your day-to-day living. To conclude, they may disturb you but they are and will always stay harmless animals.
