Rock holes are caused usually by erosion which
occurs on the surface of the earth. The material is transported
by the wind. In such regions, such as on this picture, where the
land is rough and very hot, the land tends to dry. Therefore it
gets harder in texture. However the wind which blows over it
breaks each layer making such that a hole is left. It doesn’t
have any specific or exact size nor does it always stays in this
form. Over the years it increases in size. Many rock holes can
be found in Australia, but not only there. All over the world
rock holes are formed. Usually they are to be found in groups of
3 or 2. They can even contain water if it has rain over a
certain period of time. The depth differs from the intensity of
the force of its erosion. With time it gets deeper but sometimes
if erosion stops and deposition takes place, the hole is covered
again. It forms part of one of the natural processes of our
environment. |
