On the picture
above you can observe the Australian Koala in Brisbane,
Australia. The koala looks so nice and cute and is often called
the koala bear but it has no relation with bears. Most of the
time the koala live at night they do not move a lot during day
time and they also sleep a lot. Often it is heard that koala
sleep a lot because they are drunk with the gum leaves they eat,
but that’s not true it just that the digestion of their toxic
need a lot of energy so the best way to keep energy is sleeping.
A mature male will often show to others his territory by rubbing
his chest on his tree where there a sticky dark substance
exuded. Koalas are not found in desert places or rainforest;
they live in eucalypt forest in wild. Koalas will be found in
wild only in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and
Queensland. Koala do not drink a lot as the gum leaves contains
enough water. It has been estimated by the Australian Koala
Foundation that there is less one hundred thousand koalas
remaining in Australia. |
