You can
observe on the picture the Cape Moreton Lighthouse. It was the
first lighthouse built in Queensland, Cape Moreton Island. The
lighthouse is on the northern point of Moreton Island. But the
lighthouse was not the first built by the government of
Queensland. The lighthouse has been built because the traffic
was increasing to the northern coast. The lighthouse has a
height of twenty three metres, it is constructed of sandstones.
The Cape Moreton Lighthouse has been for a long time the only
one on the coastline of over three thousand miles. The operator
of the lighthouse is the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.
The power source of the lighthouse is solar panels. The original
energy source of the lighthouse was oil and in 1930 it was
converted to gas. Seven years later it has been converted to
electricity and in 1993 there were solar panels placed. |
