Moreton Island is on the east side of Moreton bay and is a large sand island. Moreton Island has an area of around one hundred and seventy square kilometers, from north to south the island is thirty eight kilometers. Moreton Island proposes a lot of activities to the visitors. To feed the dolphins is one of popular activities of Moreton Island. The Mount Tempest is the highest point of the island. It is a mount that has a height of two hundred and seventy eight meters. Most of the island consists of sand. Moreton Island is a magnificent place with beautiful beaches and dunes. There have been aboriginal people living on Moreton Island for twenty thousand years. There are also important aboriginal sites on the island mainly from the Ngugi tribe. European started to settle on the island during the year 1848. Introduction of pigs and goat started in 1865 which was a source of food for the sailors.
