Australia is partly located in the Pacific Ocean. The Pacific Ocean is the largest body of water in the world. The Pacific Ocean has around twenty five thousand islands and most of them are located south of the equator. The earth has together five oceans which are the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Arctic Ocean, Southern Ocean and Indian Ocean. The area of the ocean is around one hundred and seventy nine million square which covers one third of the surface of the earth. The Coral Sea, East China Sea, Yellow Sea, Tasman Sea, Celebes Sea, Philippine Sea, South Cjine Sea, Sulu Sea, and the Sea of Japan are all situated along the Pacific Ocean. The temperature of the water of the Pacific Ocean can vary from freezing up to thirty degrees Celsius. The salinity of the water also varies depending on the latitude; the water which is near the equator is less salty.
