On the picture
you can see the Victoria Bridge. It is the fifth bridge of the
Brisbane River. The bridge as it is right now was opened in
1969. The bridge originally constructed was in a timber
structure which collapsed very quickly. The next bridge was
built in metal and was washed away in 1893 by the floods. The
next bridge was then opened in 1897 and resisted till 1969.
There is Brisbane a large number of bridges here are some well
known, Centenary Bridge is the twelfth bridge, Goodwill Bridge
is a cyclist and pedestrian bridge, Albert Bridge is the ninth
bridge crossing the Brisbane River, Captain Cook Bridge is the
third bridge, Story Bridge is the second bridge, Merivale Bridge
is the seventh bridge, Gateway Bridge, and Jack Pesch Bridge is
the eighth crossing the river of Brisbane. |
