The
monument has grey granite columns with a ball at the top, and is
placed on a red granite base. There are, as you can see, red
polished granite steps, granite walls and behind are 3 flag
poles in memory of the nations who fought for the same thing,
Peace, during world war two. The cenotaph of Darwin represents
the soldiers who bravely defended Australia against the Japanese
Air crafts. Unfortunately not all names are written down due to
the lack of exact information concerning their identities.
Nevertheless, the monument stays in memory of those who
sacrifice their lives for the good going of Darwin as well as
Australia, as a whole. |
