Monsoons are excess of rain which occur mainly in India but in
other parts of the world too such as Australia. This is a
monsoon forest which means it is the drainage basin of Darwin.
The rain is collected in this area. The forest receives a lot of
rain annually; due to this the trees grow very well. This may
also be bad as too much rain may cause floods and many damages.
The trees do not need excess rain and therefore when there are
monsoons that causes damage to the trees and other plants, the
roots are severely affected and sometimes even destroyed. The
forest is apart from the monsoons, a very quiet place and
practical for picnic and small walks. You may get lost so it is
better to be accompanied by someone who either knows the place
or who can walk with you through your journey in the monsoon
forest. |
