This
memorial has a specific reason of being what it is; it is there
to represent the soldiers who fought against many countries to
represent Australia. Australia firstly declared war on Germany
on the third September, which was shortly after the invasion of
Poland. Almost a million Australian soldiers had served in the
Australian army. The Australian military had fought against
Europe, North Africa and South West pacific. Australia as a
whole came in direct attack in the world war and this was the
first time in history. The war lasted for several years to be
exact as from 1942 up to 1945.There were many soldiers which at
the end were wounded by enemy action and the others were killed.
In brief they were all very brave. This memorial is simply to
thanks them for everything they have done for their nation and
also for their boldness, intrepidity and of course their
courage. Now Australia is a peaceful continent. |
