Karlukarlu, the aboriginal name given to a rock from the devils
marbles, which was removed from its original location 46 years
ago, transported 400 kilometre to Alice Springs where it was
placed above John Flynn's grave to save guard his ashes. He was
a flying doctor and was passionate by the biblical story of
crucifixion in which a large stone (a devil sized marble) was
moved to the entrance of Christ’s grave some centuries ago. It
was his wish to be buried somewhere along the Australian
location where these type of rocks may be found. The image shows
an example of these type of rock. |
