Tennant Creek is a town located in the northern territory of
Australia. It is named after a pastoralist John Tennant who came
from the south of Australia in sign of gratitude for his
financial help. Tennant Creek has a population of 3900 of which
1500 are Aboriginal or Terros Strait Islanders. Gold was
discovered in the same area giving it therefore an opening of
richness. People also some times call Australia, Tennant Creek,
and the Gold Rush. Tennant Creek has a warm climate of usually
40 degrees. The land is mainly reddish in colour, thus the
boulders also known as devils marbles are also a reddish-brown. |
