The indigenous
Australians are the inhabitants of Australia. In indigenous
Australians is also included the aborigines and Torres Strait
Islanders. The Torres Strait Islanders lived between Australia
and New Guinea. There are some differences with the Aboriginal
people; they have different culture and customs. They prefer to
be called Torres Strait Island instead of Aboriginal people. The
Indigenous have also their own language which is also different
in each part of Australia. The word aboriginal means earliest or
first known. Till now there is no clear origin of the indigenous
Australians. Even that that they migrated through southeast asia
there is no known relation with Polynesian or asian people. In
kakadu region it is one of of the region where you will be able
to discover the aboriginal people, their culture and customs.
