On the above picture you can observe a Jacana. Jacana is found all around the world mostly in tropical areas. Jacana is tropical waders which make part of the Jacanidae family. The Jacana is quite easy to recognize, they have huge feet and claws. Their huge feet allow them to walk on vegetation floating in shallow lakes. The lakes are their favorite habitat. The female Jacana is larger than the male. Their main food is insects and other invertebrates that they find on the surface of the lakes and on the floating vegetation. While traveling in the Northern Territory, Australia, in regions where there are lakes you may see some Jacanas. Kakadu is a spectacular area to visit. There are also in Kakadu accommodations where you can have a stay. It is a great place to relax and learn about the aboriginal culture and customs. When you visiting the Northern Territory of Australia it is a place you need absolutely to visit.
