Lily as you
can see on the picture is a beautiful flower. Here on the
picture it has a beautiful pink colour. While walking around in
Kakadu National you may come along these beautiful flowers.
Water lily is the usual name for this aquatic plant; its
scientific name is Nympheaceae. Bangladesh has as national
flower the white water lily. There is around seventy species of
water lilies. There are three group of water lilies which are
known as tropical, hardy and night. Hardy are the most common
water lilies you find and can stand almost all weather
condition, night lily blooms at night, tropical lily are found
in tropical region and bloom at any time of the day. You will
find water lilies in shallow water of lakes and ponds. Usually
water lilies like hot climate. Most of the time you will see
that they grow where there are few plants so that there is no
competition for sunlight. Sunlight is their main source of
energy and food. The Giant water Lily is the largest water lily
that exists. Amazon is one of the places it can be found. |
