The National
Park of Kakadu is the largest terrestrial park of Australia in
the Northern Territory. It has a land area of around eight
thousand square miles with wildlife habitat. The Kakadu National
is also very popular for its Saltwater Crocodile also known as
man eater. You will find in the park around sixty mammal
species, over one hundred and twenty three reptiles species,
around ten thousand insects species, over one thousand plants
species, around fifty one fish species, around two hundred and
eighty bird species, and around twenty five frog species. The
region of Kakadu is known to have six seasons which has been
decided by the aboriginal inhabitants living long time ago in
the area. In the Northern Territory there are ninety five
protected areas which are the conservation reserves, national
parks, historical reserves, nature parks. Here are some reserves
you can visit while being in the Northern Territory, Devil’s
Marbles, Blackmore River, Fogg Dam, Rainbow Valley, Charles
Darwin, Dulcie Ranges, Ulruru, Keep River, Elsey, Lichfield,
Flora River, Howard Springs, Katherine Low Level, Ruby Gap,
Trephina Gorge, Alice Springs, Harrison Dam, and Indian Island. |
