The Osprey is a raptor; it also often called fish eagle, seahawk and fishhawk. The Osprey is a specialist fish eater. The Osprey has a length of fifty two to sixty cm and has a wingspan of one hundred and fifty two to one hundred and sixty seven cm. You can observe on the picture that the osprey is a magnificent raptor. While visiting the Kakadu National park you will be able to see some Ospreys around. Ospreys mate most of the time for life. They usually breed by lakes or coastal brackish water. Their nests are built with heap of sticks in trees, telephone poles, rocky outcrops. Usually they begin their couple life from March or before and for a period of five month they will their babies. The female osprey will lay about three to four eggs latest April. The sizes of their eggs are of the size of a chicken egg. You will for sure enjoy your visit in the Kakadu National Park. It is a spectacular place to discover rocks paintings from the aboriginal people, wildlife and the famous saltwater crocodile.
