The region of
Kakadu is considered by the aboriginal people to be a land with
six seasons. The aboriginal inhabitants decided to divide the
year in six seasons as there is extreme variation in the
seasons. Gudjewg is in Jannuary and February, Banggereng is in
March, Yegge is in April and May, Wurrgeng is in June and July,
Gurrung is in August and September and in October November and
December it is Gunnumeleng. Kakadu National Park is a
spectacular park in the northern Territory which will enable the
visitors to discover the wildlife of the park with mammals,
insects, birds and the popular saltwater crocodile. Kakadu has
also spectacular rock paintings made by ancient aborigines.
These paintings are very sacred the aboriginal people. In the
park itself you have accommodation proposed to the visitors as
the Kakadu Highway. You will also see the descendant of the
first Australians who still live in Kakdu. |
