The Jawoyn
people are a group of Australian Aborigines living in the
Northern Territory of Australia. The Jawoyn group occupied
about 34,000km2 areas in Northern Territory which is known to be
a sub tropical region. The Jawoyn groups are known to have
forged an unusual relationship with a mining company. At a
certain time the mining company wanted to have access to Jawoyn,
but they didn’t sell their land, instead of selling, they had a
negotiation and allowed the company to use the land for mining
and in exchange they gained a lot of concessions as hiring
Aboriginal workers giving scholarship and promoting the place as
touristic area. |
