The Northern Territory located in the beautiful continent of Australia, which is also known as the land of kangaroos and koalas. The Northern Territory has for capital Darwin. In the past, from 1825 to 1863, the Northern Territory made part of the New South Wales and from 1863 to 1911 it made part of South Australia. In January 1911 exactly on the first of January, the Northern has been separated from South Australia and transferred under the control of the Commonwealth. Between 1926 and 1931 for a short period the Northern Territory was divided in North and Central Australia. More than a quarter of the population in the Northern Territory is Indigenous Australians. There are different aboriginal communities in the territory; the largest aboriginal group is Pitjantjatjara, the Arrente and the Luritja. The Northern is worth a visit while being in Australia with their spectacular rocks formation as the Ayers Rocks and The Olgas.
