The name Melbourne was only given to the area in 1837 in honour
of the Prime Minister of Britain, William Lamb, second Viscount
Melbourne who was living in Derbyshire, England in a village
called Melbourne. At first Melbourne was the capital of Port
Phillip District and was only later on named as the capital city
