corporations, National Australian Bank, Telstra and BHP
Billiton. The Business Council of Australia is also located in
Melbourne and most of the Companies in the Australian Stock
Exchange are also there. Melbourne is also famous for its sports
events as the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival, the Formula One
Grand Prix, the AFL Grand Final and the Australian Open. In 1956
Melbourne also hosted the first Olympic Games in the Southern
hemisphere and in 2006 the Commonwealth Games. |
