The 2000 Olympic Summer Games was held in Sydney New South Wales
Australia. It was also known as the Millennium Games. There were
all together one hundred and ninety nine nations participating
to the Olympics Games. There were six thousand five hundred and
eighty two men and four thousand and sixty nine women
participating. The opening ceremony was held on the 15 September
2000 and the closing ceremony was on the 15 October 2000. The
Governor General William Deane officially opened the 2000 Summer
Olympics in Sydney Australia. United States was the nation that
collected the more medals including forty gold medals and
respectively behind came Russia, China Australia, Germany,
France, Italy, Netherlands, Cuba and Great Britain, these were
the countries that collected the most medals during the games.
