Philip Cox a
famous Australian architects say that the Olympic stadium looks
like a pringle potato chip. At the early beginning of its
construction, the Olympic stadium carries an important
competition. Moreover, this competition was the construction of
the stadium. Architects from all around the world vied for the
stadium construction prize. The rules were that the structure of
the stadium should reflect the dignity and the importance of the
events, which would take place there. And that it was large
enough to hold the crowd coming for the games and that after it,
no reconstruction was needed. As the main reason of its
construction was the Olympic games of 2000. The stadium is
described as the largest facility ever built. It is used for
different purpose. The Stadium was officially opened in June
1999 when Australia played the Fifa All stars. Many great
activities were held in this stadium, such as the national rugby
league holds it grand final there. At least, two rugby Union
tests a year are played here. Through all the year long, several
games are played. Owned by the Stadium Australian Group, the
ground of this stadium is completely covered with grass. |
