This is a picture of the St Mary’s Cathedral located in Sydney,
Australia. The cathedral is the seat of the Roman Catholic
Archbishop of Sydney. The cathedral is considered as the largest
church of Australia and the largest Roman Catholic church in the
southern hemisphere. The church is located on College Street
which not far from the Central Business District. The first
stone for the foundation of the cathedral was laid in 1868. The
cathedral is a typical Gothic Revival of the nineteenth century.
The architect Edmund Blacket started the construction of the
church. From Hyde Park in Sydney, you can have a magnificent
view of St Mary’s Cathedral. |
